1 in 5 children in the UK have never seen the ocean. How can they feel a connection to something they’ve never even seen? So we created a children’s book to teach the next generation about the importance of ocean sustainability. ‘The Day the Ocean Went Away’ follows a little boy who wakes up to discover that the ocean has disappeared. He journeys across the dry seabed to find out why, meeting all sorts of beleaguered ocean creatures along the way, from a plastic-filled blue whale to a mermaid trapped in plastic nets. Available on Amazon, all proceeds from the book go towards helping inner-city kids experience the ocean.
