SUNDAY TIMES | BEST PLACES
Grey 2013
To promote The Sunday Times ‘Best Places To Live’ series we turned the outdoor poster on its head. Rather than using the medium in a traditional way, each of our posters featured exact directions on how to get to the Best Places to Live in Britain. We used the familiar aesthetic of ‘Diversion’ signs, but instead of saying the places names, the posters told you what was good about the place.
We also created an interactive ad for The Times iPad app using the built in GPS and compass in the iPad to help people discover theses places.
The posters got people to the newsagents too. Sales increased by over 50,000 in a week, making it one of the most successful promotions in the papers history. The campaign also picked up silver in Creative Circle 2014 for best use of medium.
SUNDAY TIMES | BEST PLACES
To promote The Sunday Times’ ‘Best Places To Live’, we subverted the familiar aesthetic of ‘Diversion’ signs. But instead of showing the place names, we gave cheeky little summaries of what the place was really known for. We also created an interactive compass on The Times iPad app to help people discover these places.
